Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly neutralised scores of bandits, including Ibrahim Kachalla Gudau, a notorious outlaw.
NEWSBREAK reports that Gudau, one of the most dangerous bandit leaders, commanded a group carrying out kidnappings and killings in Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara and part of Niger Republic.
The slain terrorist’s gang was believed to have killed the seven personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who were ambushed and killed by bandits in Kaduna State while on official duty, last week.
According to available intelligence, Gudau was one of those killed by the troops as they repelled an attack in Kankami village in Kaduna State recently.
Banditry is a serious crime that poses a security challenge to democratic governance and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
Bandits often terrorise communities in the North West region. Their activities include kidnapping, arson, shooting, rape, cattle rustling, killing, and looting.
