The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tonye Cole has vowed that his party will be on the ballot in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Newsbreak.ng reports that the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Wednesday dismissed a suit filed by Bernard Mikko, a former member of the House of Representatives, against the emergence of Cole as the Rivers State APC governorship flag-bearer.
The suit with number: PH/FHC/94/CS/22 — Mikko versus the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC, Cole, and Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, was discarded by the court.
“My people, recall that a suit was filed against me by Bernard Mikko, seeking to dismiss my candidacy as the flag bearer of the APC for the gubernatorial election to prevent me from contesting in the 2023 election.
“You all prayed, waited, stood, fought and believed in me and today I am pleased to inform you all that the suit has been dismissed in my favour for lack of merit.
“I want to thank everyone of you for staying true to the party and again use this medium to remind you all that the APC Rivers State will be on the ballot come 2023.
“We continue to remain fearless and unshakable and move,” Cole wrote on his verified Facebook page.
