The 41 students, staff and other persons abducted from Government Science Secondary School, Kagara, in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State last week have been released, a report has revealed.
The abductees were released early Saturday and are currently on their way to the Niger State Government House in Minna, the state capital, Channels Television reported a government official as saying.
According to the official, the abductees were released from a location close to where the 53 travellers who were also kidnapped were released a week ago.
They are expected to be received by Abubakar Bell, Governor of Niger State, at the Government House, Minna.
A total of 27 students, three staff members and 11 family relatives of the school’s employees were abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits from the school on 17 February.
