The Kano State government has appointed Aminu Ado Bayero as the new Emir of Kano.

This was disclosed by Usman Alhaji, Secretary to the State Government, who made the announcement accompanied by the four Kano Emirate kingmakers at the Kano Government House on Monday.
Bayero, who is the son of late Emir Ado Bayero, replaces Muhammadu Sanusi II, who was dethroned earlier on Monday by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Alhaji said the appointment was in line with the provision of Kano state Emirate Council Law 2019.
“Section 11 (1) of the Law has empowered the governor to appointment Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the emir of Kano,” he said.
According to Alhaji, the appointment takes immediate effect.

Bayero is now the 15th emir under the Fulani Dynasty.
Prior to his latest appointment, Bayero was Emir of Bichi, one of the new four emirates recently created by Governor Ganduje.
The new emir is a graduate of Mass Communication from Bayero University Kano. He was also a former Danmajen Kano, Dan Buran, Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida and Wamban Kano.
