The Federal Government has announced that the inbound Lagos section of the Kara Bridge will be fully reopened for vehicular movement on Sunday.
Adedamola Kuti, the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, made the announcement in an interview on Saturday.
According to Kuti, the rehabilitation work on the inbound section of the bridge which borders Lagos and Ogun State has been completed, adding that the barriers will be removed to ease traffic during the festive season.

“Now that inbound has been completed, we don’t want to start work on the outbound and leave it halfway, so we decided to open the road to commuters tomorrow, Sunday, so that people can move freely this Christmas,” Kuti said.
The Federal Controller said the contractor, Julius Berger, will return to continue rehabilitation work on the bridge in January 2020.
Both inbound and outbound traffic was diverted to one side of the road from September 2, when reconstruction of that part of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway commenced.
