Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NICDOM), has denied publishing a post on Twitter that claimed the over 300 students abducted by terrorists from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State, last Friday, had been rescued.
Dabiri-Erewa issued the rebuttal in a post on her Twitter handle on Thursday.
In a now-deleted post which was apparently posted on her verified handle, the NIDCOM Chairman expressed joy over the purported rescue of the students, crediting it to the Buhari administration.

But in a rebuttal on Thursday afternoon, Dabiri-Erewa denied that the tweet emanated from her, claiming that she lost control of both her Twitter and Instagram accounts.
She urged Twitter users and journalists not to credit the purported rescue story to her or her handle.
The rebuttal, however, elicited a lot of backlash for Dabiri-Erewa, with many Twitter users insisting that she indeed posted the tweet.
The commenters asked the NIDCOM Chairman to own up to the act and apologise instead of being economical with the truth.
