Rabe Nasir, the Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, has been killed in his home situated in the state.
It was leant that Nasir was murdered by gunmen at his residence in Fatima Shema estate of Katsina State on Wednesday.
The incident was confirmed by Sanusi Buba, Katsina Commissioner of Police, on Thursday.
According to Buba, the lifeless body of the commissioner was found at his residence on Thursday.
He also disclosed that a suspect has been arrested and investigation is ongoing.
He said: “As you can see, we’ve successfully evacuated the corpse to the hospital and investigation has started.
“An arrest has also been made. A suspect has been arrested and investigation has since begun.”
Rabe was a former officer of the Department of State Services (DSS) and he also worked with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was appointed as a commissioner by Governor Aminu Bello Masari in 2019.
The 61-year-old was also a former member of the House of Representatives.
