Festus Keyamo, minister of Labour and Employment has defended the Titi Abubakar ,wife of Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, after she erroneously asked citizens to vote against her husband’s party in 2023.
Newsbreak Nigeria previously reported that Abubakar’s wife had wrongly asked voters to vote against her husband in 2023.
However, in response to the development, Keyamo noted that it is ridiculous to make a mountain out of such molehills, especially because she swiftly corrected herself.
“Wife to Atiku, Titi Abubakar, has just urged Nigerians to vote APC on February 25th next year. In all honesty, this is obviously a slip of tongue, but we hold the view that it is unreasonable to make a mountain out of such molehills, especially when you quickly correct yourself!” Keyamo wrote.
His remark comes as Nigerians continue to criticize Atiku’s wife for making such an unnecessary gaffe at the public gathering. Many people believe Keyamo’s defense was merely a ploy to deflect attention from his party’s candidate, Bola Tinubu, during public occasions.
