Suspected kidnappers, on Monday, mounted a roadblock along Falgore Forest in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State, and abducted three passengers.

An eyewitness, Ado Musa, told Freedom Radio in Kano, that the incident occurred around 7.00am, Daily Nigerian reports.
The report also said a number of commuters, including Hisbah commander in the local government, Mukhtar Abdulmumin, were injured by the gunmen during the attack.

Abdullahi Kiyawa, spokesman for the police command, confirmed the incident.
Kiyawa said the command has launched an investigation into the development.
It was reported that in July, the state commissioner of police, Habu Sani, visited the dreaded forest, to assess security situation in the area.

During interactions with stakeholders, he urged officers to maintain high level of alertness along Kano/Kaduna and Kano/Plateau Borders within the Falgore Forest axis.

Sani had said the instruction was in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on community policing policy and agenda.
