Three men have been arrested at Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State for kidnapping and raping a 24-year-old woman.

The suspects were said to have lured the victim with the promise of securing a make-up job for her. They however abducted her and raped her for two days despite collecting a N400,000 ransom from her father.

Mohammed Haruna, the police spokesman in the state, said the suspects, Ekwugha Innocent Chinazo of Mgbuguzo Awkuzu, Chidiebere Ogoegbunam of Egbu Awkuzu and David Nnaemeka of same address, picked the victim up at Ukpo junction along Enugu- Onitsha Expressway and took her to an isolated building at Awkuzu where they allegedly raped her repeatedly.

He said the suspects were arrested in Awkuzu by operatives of the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
Haruna added that investigation is ongoing.
