Kidnappers of popular Bayelsa night club, Oyintare Ajanami, have released him but reportedly held his wife and father-in-law.
The abductors were said to have held Ajanami’s wife, 38, and her father, 74, for bringing ransom less than what was demanded.
Ajanami, 43, who was kidnapped two weeks ago at a building site in Yenagoa, was released last Thursday at an exchange point in Ahaoda Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to Vanguard, his wife and her father had gone to drop about N15million ransom out of the N200million demanded by the kidnappers.
It was stated that the payment of ransom which was kept away from security agencies, took place at about 11:45pm.
But it did not go as planned when the kidnappers insisted on the N200 million ransom and held father and daughter.
The publication quoted a source close to the family as saying that the wife of the businessman is hypertensive and was not with her drugs when she was abducted with her father.
“We are however waiting to hear from the kidnappers. We learnt their Satellite Mobile Phone gadget fell into the water during the ransom exchange,” the source added.
