After a seven-day warning strike, the Kwara State branch of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) has suspended its industrial action.
Addressing newsmen in Ilorin, the state capital, on Saturday, the Kwara Chairman of NAGGMDP, Dr. Saka Agboola, confirmed the suspension of the strike.
According to Agboola, the association had noticed a huge gap while the health workers were on strike.
He added that the workers are expected to resume duties by 6pm on Saturday.
“Considering the effect that this strike action has caused the patients and the entire populace in Kwara, we decided to suspend it.
“We appreciate the effort of the state government in looking at how we can holistically approach the issue,” he said.
