Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin has unveiled former Flying Eagles chief coach John Obuh as its new Technical Adviser. Unveiling the coach in Ilorin on Saturday, the club’s Chairman, Oladimeji Thompson, urged football enthusiasts and stakeholders in the state to give the new Technical Adviser the maximum support. Thompson also pledged his resolve to reposition the club in order to send positive signs that the club is out for greater exploits in the new season. The club chairman disclosed that the team would resume training in preparation for the new season on Monday.
Obuh assured the club’s fans and the people of the state of his total dedication, commitment and utmost professionalism. The former Flying Eagles coach asked for the same support accorded him when he first handled the team in the 2008/2009 season and took the team to the Premier League. He promised to retain about 80 percent of the players presently in the team and recruit few new ones to raise a formidable team.
Kwara United FC will play in the Nigeria National League (NNL) in the 2015/2016 season which begins in the next few weeks. This was after it was relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
