The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Thursday, declared a five-day strike in both public and private organisations in Kaduna State, to protest mass sack of workers by the state government.
The NLC Central Working Committee took the decision to withdraw services of workers in Kaduna at a meeting which held at the Labour House in Abuja.
Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, said the five-day withdrawal of service by workers in the state will be indefinite, if the state government does not show remorse.
The Kaduna State Government had disengaged 4000 workers across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state earlier this month.
Reacting to the development, Wabba described the action as “arbitrary and cruel”, and called on the Kaduna State government to reverse the mass sack.
