A lady, Sampou Bridget Oyindoubra, has burnt to death in Agoloma community in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State. The tragic incident reportedly took place on Thursday.
Bridget had returned to her home very late after partaking in her church’s end of the year from prayer meeting. She quickly went to bed, after which the house went on flame. Neighbours suspect the deceased must have stored petrol in her apartment, which ignited the fire. However, the cause of the mid-night fire has not been known.
”The neighbours poured sand and water into the fire to stop it from engulfing the apartment, but their intervention could not stop the inferno,” said a source.
Friends of the deceased took to the social media to mourn her tragic death.
One of them, Agoinzov Nkemluv, who mourned the deceased on his Facebook page said: ” RIP Bridget, we miss you. Just burnt to death in her house an hour ago.”
