As the new governors, who were inaugurated on Wednesday, settle down to the business of governance, some of them have begun appointing their personal aides and administration officials.
A total of 29 governors were sworn-in, with eleven states witnessing the inauguration of a new governor: Gombe, Oyo, Yobe, Lagos, Ogun, Borno, Imo, Kwara, Nasarawa, Zamfara and Bauchi.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, has appointed Folashade Sherifat as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The governor announced the appointment of the Master’s degree holder of the University of Lagos on Thursday.
Similarly, Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, has announced the appointment of Muhammad Baba as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Ladan Salihu, spokesperson to the Governor, made the announcement in a statement issued in Bauchi on Thursday.
Also appointed are Bashir Yau as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor; Muktar Gidado as Senior Special Assistant, Media, to the Governor; and Umaruji Hassan as Chief Protocol Officer.
In the same vein, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, who was sworn-in for a second term, has reappointed Ekerete Udoh as his Chief Press Secretary and Senior Special Assistant on Media.
Udoh’s appointment was made known in a statement issued by Nathaniel Adiakpan, Permanent Secretary, Government House, Uyo, also on Thursday.
