Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos State, has promised to set up N2 billion relief fund for victims of the Abule-Ado explosion in the state.

Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on Monday, while addressing journalists at the scene of the explosion.
The governor visited the scene with his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, and other state government officials.
The incident, which happened at Soba community, led to loss of lives and property.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), claimed that over 50 buildings were destroyed in the explosion, and 15 corpses, including a family of four, were recovered from the scene of the incident.

Also, about 60 students of Bethlehem Girls College, located within the area, who sustained various injuries in the incident, were taken to the Nigerian Navy Hospital in Satellite town.
