The Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, has begun sensitizing on water transport safety.
Damilola Emmanuel, Managing Director of LASWA, led the donation of life jackets to travelers and jetty operators at different parts of the state. “The Lagos State Government … will under no circumstances compromise safety standards and the protection of lives and property”, Emmanuel said. He urged
waterways users to always wear their life jackets and report any issues immediately to the Authority or Marine Police.
Moreover, Emmanuel said emergency lines had been opened to deal with unforeseen incidents.
