A man, Greatly Grepele, has allegedly strangled his friend, Feawe Edward Odogbo, to death in Ago-Imota, Agbowa, in the Ikorodu Area of Lagos State.

Grepele, who appeared before Justice Opesanwo, of an Ikeja State High Court on Thursday is standing trial for murder.

Odogbo was said to have been found dead in the corridor of the apartment he shared with the defendant.

Grepele had told the court that the deceased was with him before he left for the apartment. The defendant said he was stunned when he found Odogbo’s lifeless body on the ground as he didn’t show any sign of ill health when they were together.

He, however, said he suspected that his friend hanged himself.

The landlord of the apartment, Yinusa Jinadu, had reported the matter at the police station. The police officers subsequently went to the scene of incident but could not find any evidence relating to Grepele’s claim.

Moreover, the autopsy report presented to the court showed that the deceased was strangled to death.

After reviewing the autopsy report and hearing submissions of both counsels, the judge adjourned the case till April 30, 2018.
