Lukman Madoti has bathed his lover, Toyin Busari, with a substance believed to be acid on her. Madoti, said to be the chairman of okada rider in the Akala area of Mushin, Lagos, was said to have suspected his 27-year-old lover was cheating on him. He was said to have threatened to destroy her beauty which made her attractive to other men.
A resident told PUNCH Metro that he saw the suspect heading towards Busari’s house in the early hours of Monday but he had not suspected any foul play. He was later siad to have poured the substance on her while she was asleep. He was beaten to a pulp by a mob who caught him while he was fleeing before he was handed over to the police at the Alakara division.
Busari, who spoke to the same medium from her sick bed at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Annex, Gbagada, dismissed his accusation of infidelity. She pleaded with Nigerians to come to her aid as she was spending over N15,000 on drugs daily.
Chike Oti, the Lagos State Police Public Relaions Officer, said, “The victim is recuperating at the hospital. The suspect is also in a hospital. He was attacked by a mob after the incident.”
