Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State have protested the alleged imposition of House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates by the state executives.
The protesters complained that the executives selected candidates without holding a congress.
Some of the aspirants vying for positions in the House of Representatives and state Assembly respectively, in a petition identified themselves as Abu Ojeikere , Olanrewaju Lateef , Uduomon Ohis , Adedipe Ewenla, Shina Babatunde , Modius Oladega and Ijimayowa Abbas.

One of the aspirants, Oladega , said: ”I paid N650, 000 to purchase a form for the House of Assembly; we were supposed to have a congress, but to my surprise, somebody called me that they were the elected candidates. No congress took place.”

Another aspirant Uhis said, ”I paid N660, 000 for the form , but instead of a congress to be held for a free and fair election to produce candidates , some names were picked and sent to the national PDP.”
