A low turnout of voters was recorded in today’s governorship and state assembly elections at some polling units in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State.
At the Okemorosun polling unit 005, ward F, along Lagos/Badagry Expressway, our correspondent noted that only a handful of voters came out to cast their vote.
The same could also be said of Magbon polling unit 4, ward 8, as the voter apathy towards the elections were evident.
The low turnout is a massive contrast to the massive crowd seen at the same polling units for the presidential and National Assembly elections, which was conducted two weeks ago.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) patiently waited for the electorate, who trickled in, to come and cast their votes before the end of voting at 2pm.
