Ibrahim Attahiru, the late Chief of Army Staff, and six others on his entourage who died in the Beachcraft 350 military aircraft that crashed in Kaduna will be buried on Saturday.
Brigadier-General Mohammed Yerima, Director of Army Public Relations, made this known in an invitation notice on Saturday.
The late Attahiru, a Lieutenant-General, and the six others will be buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja, the notice stated.
Yerima, however, did not disclose the names of the other late six officers to be buried.
The invitation read: “The burial proceedings of the Chief of Army Staff, Late Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and six other senior officers who lost their lives in an air mishap in Kaduna is slated for today Saturday, May 22, 221.
“It will commence at the National Mosque and National Christian Centre, Abuja by 1000hrs respectively.
“Consequently, the internment for the late COAS and six other senior officers will take place at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja today by 1300hrs.”
Asides from the late Attahiru, the others who died in the crash are Brigadier-General M.I. Abdulkadir, Brigadier-General Olayinka, Brigadier-General Kuliya, Major L.A. Hayat (the aide-de-camp to the COAS), Major Hamza and Sergeant Umar.
The crew members of the ill-fated aircraft are Flight Lieutenant Taiwo Olufemi Asaniyi (the pilot), Flight Lieutenant Alfred Ayodeji Olufade (co-pilot), Sergeant Adesina and ACM Oyedepo.
