Premier League ‘deportees’ Aston Villa suffered an embarrassing defeat to League Two side, Luton Town in the first round of the EFL Cup. A Jores Okore own goal compounded the Roberto Di Matteo-led side’s woes after Jordan Ayew had put them in pole position in the first half.
Luton’s Jake Gray and Cameron McGeehan scored to complete the League Two side’s 3-1 victory.
Aston Villa have not won any away game since the opening day of last season. They have also failed to win a competitive game in six months.
