A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, on Monday asked the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) to “apply sanctions” on the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council, Festus Keyamo (a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN).
Newsbreak.ng reports that Keyamo, also Nigeria’s junior Minister for Labour and Employment, recently said that the $460,000 deducted from 10 accounts that were linked to APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, by United States authorities in the early 90s, were tax on investments.
Reacting to that defence, Omokri, a top campaigner of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), posited that the minister was wrong.
“The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee should also intervene and apply sanctions on Mr. Keyamo to save the legal profession from going into disrepute. Saying that Bola Tinubu, a KNOWN DRUG LORD’s drug money forfeiture is just tax is the height of quackery!” Omokri wrote on his verified Facebook page.
