Tanguy Ndombele, Olympic Lyonnais midfielder, has told the club he wants to leave this summer.
Premier League teams, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, have been reportedly interested in his services.
But Tottenham are said to be more interested in the French International, having had £40 million bid rejected, while Lyon are asking for around £70 million.
The London club will have to break their transfer record to land the 22-year-old, who has told the Ligue 1 side of his desire to quit the club.
Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas said: “He is seeking a departure. Nothing is done but the door may be open.”
Aulas also confirmed that Lyon could move for Lille’s Thiago Mendes as a replacement, shortly after announcing the arrival of fellow midfielder, Jean Lucas.

Ndombele had previously admitted he would be interested in a move to north London.
“Yes, it’s true that Tottenham are a great team,” Ndombele told Telefoot.
“They are a big club, they finished fourth in their league, they reached the Champions League final, they are still a big club like any other.
“Which player would not be interested in a big club?”
Tottenham are likely to break their transfer record twice, if they are to sign Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.
Spurs have already had a bid rejected for the Argentine, with Real Betis insisting that they pay the full release clause.
But The Mirror said Betis are already targeting a replacement for Celso in Rennes star, Benjamin Bourigeau.
Pochettino is keen to revamp his squad this summer, and will need reinforcements in the midfield, should Christian Eriksen decide to eventually leave the club. Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier could also exit the club during this transfer window.
