Ahead of the Local Government election in Ekiti State on Saturday, December 4,2021, the state government has announced movement restrictions across the state from 6.00am to 4.00pm.
According to a statement signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor Ekiti State, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, on Friday made available to NewsBreak, stated the restriction is to allow for smooth conduct of the election.
The statement also urged students in the state participating in the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) to go out with a valid proof of identification.
Statement read: “This is to notify the general public that there will be restriction of vehicular movement within Ekiti State tomorrow, Saturday 4th December 2021 from 6.00am to 4.00pm. This is to allow for a smooth conduct of the Local Government Election across the State.
“Only those on essential and Electoral Assignments are exempted from this restriction.
“The government therefore solicits the cooperation of citizens in this regard.
“Students participating in NECO Examinations across the state are advised to go out with valid proof of Identification to allow Unhindered access. The state government will guarantee the safety of every citizen of the state before, during and after the elections.
“Any inconvenience caused by these restrictions is regretted. The general public, especially motorists should please take note of this important notice.”
