A medical doctor, Peter Antagwho, has explained some myths about female virginity.

In a tweet on Wednesday, he said it is important for men to know that the hymen cannot reveal much about a woman’s virginity.

According to him, the hymen, usually painted as a membrane that completely covers the vagina, is not a complete covering. He explained that the hymen has an opening or openings where discharges or menstrual flow can pass through.
The hymen is a membrane covering the vagina opening. Its shape and size varies in people.
It normally doesn’t cover the vaginal opening completely to allow discharges/menstrual flow to pass through.
