It was not the best of debuts for Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru, as 10-man AS Monaco lost 3-0 away to Metz in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Onyekuru, who joined Monaco from Everton, was replaced with 20 minutes remaining in the game.
Monaco were reduced to 10 men following a straight red card shown to Ruben Aguilar on 34 minutes.
The defeat, which is their second after two games in the new season, means Monaco are rooted to the bottom spot in the league table.
Onyekuru’s Super Eagles teammate, Victor Osimhen, could not replicate his scoring feat last week as Lille crashed to a 1-0 loss at Amiens.
Lille also played most part of the game with 10 men after Boubakary Soumareone was given his marching orders in the 39th minute.
And in another Ligue 1 game, another Super Eagles forward, Samuel Kalu, featured for Bordeaux, who were held to a 1-1 at home by Montpellier.
Kalu saw 90 minutes of action as they earned their first point of the new season.
