Babatunde Gbadamosi, the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party in the 2019 Lagos State governorship election, his wife and popular musician, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, have been released on bail by the Nigerian Police Force.

This was disclosed in an interview by Bala Elkana, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, on Tuesday.
The trio of Gbadamosi, his wife and Naira Marley were arrested by the police after they attended a birthday party organised by popular actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, in honour of her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, last Saturday.
The party, which held at Amen Estate -purportedly owned by Gbadamosi- in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state, however, contravened the social restriction order of not more than 20 persons in a place at a time as declared by Lagos State as part of measures to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus currently ravaging the state.

Elkana said Gbadamosi, his wife and Naira Marley turned themselves in on Monday but had to be released on bail on Tuesday after the court was unable to sit.
He explained that the trio had spent the constitutional 24 hours in a police facility and, therefore, had to be discharged pending their arraignment, which he said will occur on Wednesday (today).

“They (Gbadamosi, his wife and Fashola) are on bail because the court did not sit today (Tuesday) and we could not keep them beyond the constitutional time given. They all slept in the cell yesterday (Monday) and they have all been granted bail and asked to report back tomorrow (Wednesday) so that they can be arraigned,” the Lagos PPRO told the Punch.

Akindele-Bello, popularly known as Jenifa, and her musician husband, better known as JJC Skillz, were sentenced to 14 days community service and fined a N100,000 each by Aje Afunwa of the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba.
The magistrate also ordered that the couple should be placed in isolation for 14 days, adding that they must compile and submit the names and phone numbers of all those who attended the party.
