Makinde Reduces LAUTECH Tuition Fees By 25 Percent

Seyi Makinde, Oyo State governor, has announced 25 per cent reduction in tuition fees for students of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) located in Ogbomosho area of the state.

Makinde made the announcement when he visited the institution on Tuesday.

Oyo and Osun States had agreed to cancel the joint ownership of the university and Ladoke Akintola College of Health in November 2020, consequently, transferring the ownership of the institution to the Oyo State government, while the College of Health’s ownership was left to Osun.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, the Oyo governor also promised that the institution will no longer experience incessant strikes which had on many occasions affected academic activities in the university.

“We visited the LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, this afternoon. I assured the students that now that we have secured sole ownership, the university would no longer experience incessant strikes. I also announced a reduction of school fees for all students by 25%,” Makinde wrote.
