A businessman, Aare Femi Adebayo, has accused the University College Hospital, Ibadan of incompetence and negligence for the death of his wife, Funmilayo Adebayo. The man said his wife, 58, had driven herself to the hospital on 25 January for medical check up before she died in the process. Blaming the medical personnel that attended to his wife for her death, Adebayo has sought the services of two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Akin Olujimi and Rotimi Akeredolu to demand the release of the report of a post-mortem test conducted on the deceased within seven days.
UCH’s Public Affairs Manager, Deji Bobade, has said that the hospital would respond to the allegations at the appropriate time. He promised that their response would be in line with values and traditions that guide medical practice.
