A 29-year-old man, Oladapo Adeyemi, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing 42 phones and a laptop, both valued at N1.34 million, belonging to one Shokefun Oluwatoyin. The defendant was said to have burgled Oluwatoyin’s shop located at Bankole Street in the Agege area of Lagos state on August 10, 2017.
The police prosecutor, identified simply as Peter, told the court that the offence contradicts and was punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2017.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the three counts charge of stealing leveled against him.
Aje Afunwa, the presiding magistrate, granted him bail in the sum of N400, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till November 20, 2017.
