A man, Bashiru Olajuwon, on Wednesday appeared in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State charged with stealing a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 phone valued at N150,000.
The 23-year-old is facing a two-count charge of stealing and breach of peace.
According to the Prosecutor, ASP Ikem Akpan, the accused, whose address was undisclosed, committed the offence on September 21 at 7:30p.m. along Agbalata International Market, adjacent to Union Bank, Badagry.
Akpan said the accused stole the phone from the complainant, Patience Inyang.
“The complainant caught the accused red-handed and handed him and the phone over to the Police,” he said.
The offences contravened Sections 166 and 280 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaya, in his ruling, granted the accused bail in the sum of N150, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Further hearing has been adjourned until Oct. 24.
