Manchester United have announced that they have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.
The English club announced this in a statement on its website on Thursday.
The confirmation comes after Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, had earlier at a press conference on Thursday announced it.
In a statement on its website, Manchester United said: “Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.
“The signing is subject to contractual terms and a medical, which will be completed after Jadon’s involvement in the Uefa European Championship.”
Sancho played 104 Bundesliga games for Dortmund, scoring 38 goals. He also featured in 38 Champions League games, scoring five goals.
His last game with Dortmund was in the DFB Pokal final against RB Leipzig, where Sancho scored two goals in a 4-1 win.
Manchester United were said to have negotiated with the German club for Sancho for over a year.
