Manchester United have told Real Madrid that goalkeeper David De Gea will only be sold if they pay €100million (£88m). The 27-year-old stopper has caught the eye of many with his stunning saves in recent performances especially against Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The former Atletico Madrid man was on hand to deny Sevilla’s Luis Muriel’s close range header to keep the score at 0-0.
Real Madrid have been eyeing the Spanish number one as a replacement for Keylor Navas.
De Gea’s latest price tag has, according to the same report, comes directly from the Glazer family, who will not accept a penny less for a man who has once again been a star performer at Old Trafford this season.
The goalkeeper is said to be on the verge of extending his deal with the Red Devils after saying he likes the city and enjoys working with trainer Emiliano Alvarez.
His current deal has 18 months left to run and the club also have an option to extend it by a further year, but club officials would be happy to hand him an extension on a deal worth £220,000-a-week to keep him beyond 2021.
