Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Muslim Alumni (MAPAMA) is set to hold her 9th National Convention and 20th Anniversary in the ancient city of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, next weekend.
Newsbreak.ng reports that the three-day event, slated for Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27, promises to bring not only MAPAMA members home and abroad together, for the reunion, but would also be a colloquium for the ‘crème de la crème’ in the orgnisation to discuss issues of national concern.
The Head, Media and Publicity Committee, Tajudeen Balogun, disclosed that the event will feature programmes such as: courtesy visit to MAPOLY School Management, Humanitarian visit to Orphanage Home, Prison and or Leprosy Village by the National Executive Council (NEC) members.
The program will commence officially Friday, November 25 with a commemorative Jumat Service and Anniversary lecture at MAPOLY main Mosque. Saturday, November 26 will serve a dual purpose of founders cum reports rendering day for chapters, while Sunday, is the grand session, where the Convention/Anniversary theme: “Creativity and Innovation: Tools For Solving Economic Crises In Nigeria”, will be delivered by Prof. Musa Abiodun Aibinu, the Vice-Chancellor, Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, North Central Nigeria, at the Conference Hotels & Suites, IBB Boulevard, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, by 10 am.
Speaking further on the programmes, the National Organising Committee (NOC) Chairman, Tpl. Abdul’Wakeel Solabi said Sunday’s session will also feature the conferment of Awards of Excellence on outstanding individuals and corporate bodies and the inauguration of new National Executive Council members NEC.
Dignitaries expected to grace the National Convention/Anniversary lecture include the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, as the Special Guest of Honour; Alhaji Isiaka Jide Lawal, General Manager, Eko FM, Lagos, Chairman of the Occasion; His Royal Majesty, HRM. (Oba Prof.) Abdul Kabir Adeyemi Obalenge, Lanlege Ekun 11, Arole Iganmode, Olota of Ota as the Royal father of the day; Alhaji Waheed Kadiri, former MAPOLY Rector and Chairman MAPAMA BoT as the Chief Host. MAPAMA National President, Prince Taofeek Oyeniyi is the Host.

MAPAMA National Convention is a biennial event of the organisation. The group, since her birth in 2001, has organized eight successive Conventions where issues of National concerns; ranges from Economy, Education and Career advancement were discussed by seasoned professionals of diverse disciplines.
