Governor Aminu Masari has signed into law mandatory death sentence for anyone convicted of cattle rustling or kidnapping in Katsina State.
The governor signed the bill on Friday, a day after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, over the spate of attacks in the state.

Also, a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment and a fine as compensation to the victim was approved by Governor Masari as the punishment for any rape offence.
The most recent attacks on three communities in Dan Musa, Faskari and Batsari local government areas of the state left 26 persons dead.
