Reno Omokri, a former aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has warned the Catholic Church that Ejike Mbaka, a priest and spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, will rubbish its name if he is not defrocked.
Omokri said this in a series of tweets on Thursday after Mbaka openly declared support for Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and blessed him.
“Father Mbaka is an author of confusion. Today, he is calling on General Muhammadu Buhari to “resign or be impeached”. In 2015, he told Nigerians that God told him Buhari was Nigeria’s saviour. If the Catholic Church doesn’t defrock this man, he will rubbish their name,” Omokri wrote.
“A man of God should not speak from both sides of the mouth. How could God have told Mbaka that Buhari is the saviour in 2015, and now God is telling him another thing in 2021? This same man falsely accused then President Jonathan of attempting to assassinate him!”
Mbaka had been an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying it was revealed to him that he is Nigeria’s messiah. He however changed his view while addressing members of his ministry on the spate of insecurity in the country.
