A 27-year-old mechanic, Ibrahim Omotosho, on Wednesday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing tricycle worth N750,000.
Omotosho, who resides at Abattoir Area of Fagba, Lagos, is being tried for conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem, had told the court that Omotosho and others at large stole the tricycle, overnight, from where it was kept at Toyin Street, Ikeja, on December 23, 2018.
The prosecutor said that the stolen tricycle belonged to Emeka Onyenjo.
He said that the tricycle was recovered through a tracker and the accused arrested.
The offence contravened Section 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Although, the accused pleaded not guilty, Section 287 prescribes three years jail term for offender.
The Magistrate, Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned until Feb. 5 for hearing.
