Benjamin Mendy, AS Monaco’s left back, has agreed a £39 million move to Manchester City, reports say. The 22-year-old defender will sign a £100,000-a-week deal after the international break.
Mendy is the second Monaco player to join the Citizens after Bernado Silva.
Mendy signed his first professional contract, a three-year deal with Le Havre, on July 24, 2011 where he made his professional debut on August 9, 2011 in a 2–1 Coupe de la Ligue defeat to Amiens. He moved to Marseille on 8 July, 2013 before signing for Monaco in 2016 on a five-year deal.
Manchester City have now completed the signing of three players with Benfica goalkeeper Ederson joining earlier in the week for a record £34.9 million.
