Lionel Messi has promised to give Paris Saint-Germain and the club’s fans something to cheer after signing a two-year deal at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
Messi joined the club from Barcelona as a free agent after La Liga blocked his new deal at the Spanish side due to financial rules.
The Argentine flew to Paris on Tuesday after agreeing to the “complete offer” from PSG, which include €25 million net per season as guaranteed salary plus add ons, with potential total salary rising to about €35 million per season.
At the signing of the contract, the 34-year-old said the French giants’ vision matches his ambitions.
“I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career in Paris. The club and his vision are a perfect match for my ambitions. I’m determined to build something great for the club and the fans. I can’t wait to step onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes,” he said.
