Hussaini H. Coomassie, a former deputy national coordinator (North & Diaspora) of the Buhari Campaign Organization, has said President Muhammadu Buhari should deploy the military in order to quell the #EndSARS protests happening across Nigeria.
Many Nigerians have been demonstrating across the country under the #EndSARS name, clamouring for the scrapping of the now-disbanded Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (F-SARS), as well as a holistic reform of the Nigeria Police Force.
The protests have led to traffic gridlock in key cities and the disruption of economic and business activities across the country.
In a video which has now gone viral, Coomassie registered his displeasure against the protests and blamed President Buhari for allowing the sustenance of the civil action.
The former BCO deputy national coordinator said the protesters could not have undertaken such action or make such demands for an end to police brutality and better governance under former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
Coomassie stated that certain civil actions such as protests need to be treated with an “iron fist” by the current administration.
