Newsbreak reports that Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen took pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix (GP) in Montreal, Canada, ahead of Fernando Alonso (P2) and Carlos Sainz (P3).
It was Verstappen’s first-ever pole position at a street circuit.
Speaking after losing pole position to Verstappen, Alonso said: “It feels great, it was an unbelievable weekend so far for us.
“The car was mega, I was so comfortable driving this car, and the fans pushed me to make an extra push.
“I think we’ll attack Max on the first corner!”
It was a wet Saturday at the Canadian GP qualifying session that saw Lewis Hamilton cling onto the fourth position.
The race starts Sunday at 11:00 PT.
