Manchester Derby Team News: Key Utd Defender To Miss Match, Striker Doubtful

Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s coach was left soaked with water after he had gone to tell Manchester City players to lower the music in their dressing room after his side was beaten 2-1 by the Cityzens. The players had been singing and dancing to music in their dressing forcing an irritated Mourinho to tell them to keep it low. His action had sparked a mass brawl which led to Mikel Arteta, a City assistant coach, sustaining an injury to his brow.
Ederson, City’s goalkeeper, had confronted Mourinho swearing at him in Portuguese. A number of players and members of staff from both teams spilling out of their respective dressing rooms and into the tunnel, where they pushed and shoved each other.

United first-team coach Silvino Louro is believed to have been in the thick of the action, along with a handful of players from both sides, coaches and masseurs. Goal has learned that City coach Arteta received a cut eyebrow in the ruckus, while United striker Romelu Lukaku is believed to have been heavily involved.

Witnesses claim a number of bottles were thrown, with Mourinho left covered in water after the brawl.

United had suffered the defeat following two defensive errors. David Silva had put the visitors ahead after a close range finish before Marcus Rashford equalised after City’s Fabian Delph mistimed a bouncing cross. Pep Guardiola’s men took the lead in the second half after unlikely scorer, Nicolas Otamendi stabbed home from close range. The final 10 minutes of the contest was frustrating for the Red Devils had City resorted to different time wasting techniques.
