Super Eagles assistant captain, Ahmed Musa; Super Falcons defender, Onome Ebi; and Rangers of Enugu coach, Gbenga Ogunbote were winners at the 2018 Aiteo/NFF Awards, which held on Monday at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
Musa won the Male Player of the Year Award, and his first goal against Iceland at last year’s World Cup in Russia, was voted Goal Of The Year.
Ebi, who currently plays professional football in China, won the Female Player Of The Year award, beating competition from Asisat Oshoala and Francesca Ordega.
Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby, won the Female Coach Of The Year Award, while Rangers International coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, won the Coach Of The Year Award in the men’s category, following his side’s Dramatic win in last season’s Aiteo Cup final against Kano Pillars.
In other categories, Villarreal striker, Samuel Chukwueze, won the Young Player Award, with FC Robo of Lagos player, Anam Imo, winning the female Young Player accolade.
Super Falcons beat the Eagles to the Team Of The Year, after winning the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana last year.
Supporters of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Kano Pillars, won the Fans Of The Season Award.
The Nigeria Football Federation also honoured the 1994 Eagles’ squad at the ceremony.
