President Muhammadu Buhari has thanked Nigerians for the love shown towards him thus far.
Buhari said his commitment to serve Nigerians is a product of the love he has receive from them.
He said this on Thursday in Maiduguri, Borno State, at the palace of the Shehu of Borno, during his one-day visit to the state.
The President noted that he started his administrative career as a military officer in Borno, and as a governor for seven months under Murtala Ramat Mohammed before he was appointed minister of petroleum by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who was the military head of state at the time.
“My commitment to serve Nigerians is a payback for the love shown to me. I started my political adventure in Maiduguri and I always look forward to coming here,” he said
Buhari also commended Babagana Zulum, Borno State governor, for his forthrightness, resilience and drive in bringing development to the state despite security challenges.
