More that 100 people have reportedly died in Jigawa State in the last ten days, amid the coronavirus outbreak.

This was disclosed on Channels Television by Sani Kakabori, special assistant to Hadejia Local Government chairman.
He confirmed that the strange deaths were recorded in the area.
According to him, an average of ten persons, mostly over the age of fifty, die every day in the last ten days in the council.

However, he said the cause of the deaths remain a mystery, leading the state government to establish a five-man committee to investigate the matter.
The deaths have led to widespread fears that there could be a community transmission of covid-19 in the state.
A similar incident was recorded in Kano, where hundreds died of strange illnesses.

However, Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, head of the presidential committee of the working group on coronavirus revealed two days ago, that the mysterious deaths in the state were caused by the disease.
