A Karu Upper Area Court, Abuja on Tuesday remanded a 22-year-old Point Of Sale (POS) attendant, Mujahid Bala in prison for allegedly denying receiving credit alert from a customer.

The Judge, Ishaq Hassan, ordered the remand of the defendant until March 2 to determine his sentence.

Bala, who resides at Nyanya Pantaker, Abuja, pleaded guilty to the charges of criminal breach of trust and cheating, but asked for mercy.

The Prosecution counsel, Olarewaju Osho told the court that  Babagida Sale and Abdulrahman Sani, both of Nyanya Pantaker, Abuja reported the matter at the Nyanya Police Station on Feb. 8.

“The complainants had alleged that on Jan. 16, their customer transferred the sum of N143, 000 to the defendant.

“When the complainants approached the defendant for withdrawal, he denied receiving credit alert.

“However, during police investigation, the defendant confessed to the act but could not give satisfactory account of the said money,” Osho told the court.

The offence, he said contravened sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code
