NCDC Confirms 126 New COVID-19 Cases, Nigeria’s Toll Now 56,604

A total of 126 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Wednesday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 37 of the cases were recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 27 in Lagos State, 16 in Plateau State, nine in Kaduna State, seven in Abia State, six each in Gombe and Ondo states and five in Imo State.

Two cases each were recorded in Delta, Ekiti, Kwara and Oyo states and one case was recorded in Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Ogun and Yobe states respectively.

Three new deaths were announced, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 1,091.

These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 56,604 with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.
